2021 Calendar of Gaming Events and Marketing Conferences

2020 saw a huge growth in the video game industry, seeing revenues push to over $170 billion and reaching over 214 million people in the US alone. Anaheim, CA (February 19-20)

BlizzCon is currently scheduled as a virtual event on these dates.

BlizzCon is held by Blizzard Entertainment to promote its major franchises, including Diablo, Heroes of the Storm, and Overwatch. The convention features game-related announcements, previews of upcoming Blizzard Entertainment games and content, Q&A sessions and panels, costume contests, and playable versions of various Blizzard games.

Austin, TX (March 16-20)

South by Southwest is currently scheduled as a virtual event on these dates.

The South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference & Festivals celebrates the convergence of the gaming, film, and music industries, fostering creative and professional growth alike. Los Angeles, CA (June 15-17)

E3 Expo is currently schedule as an in-person event on these dates.

E3 connects innovative hardware and software with fans and brings new players into the video game ecosystem. E3 attracts numerous new exhibitors every year from the video game industry and industries that want to break into the video game space. San Francisco, CA (July 19-23)

GDC is currently scheduled as a hybrid in-person and online event on these dates.

The Game Developers Conference (GDC) brings the game development community together to exchange ideas, solve problems, and shape the future of the industry across five days of education, inspiration, and networking. Attendees include programmers, artists, producers, game designers, audio professionals, and business leaders.

Seattle, WA (Sep 3-6) & Boston, MA (June 3-6)

PAX West and PAX East are currently scheduled as in-person events on these dates.

The Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) is a series of gaming cultural festivals involving tabletop, arcade, and video gaming. PAX holds four events annually in the United States and one event in Australia. The two biggest events are PAX West in Seattle and PAX East in Boston. Since PAX’s inception, millions of attendees have enjoyed the expo floor halls. Attendees include major game publishers and developers, panels from video game industry insiders, tabletop gaming, competitions and much more.

TwitchCon is coming to Amsterdam and returning to San Diego in 2020.
